Daily Agenda, Wednesday 5/13/09

Guys I am so sorry I am not here today! Madison is running fever and can't go to day care because of it.
Please complete the following items I have placed on this blog posting. I really need for yall to come through for me today and work during class instead of doing nothing and playing game.
NO ONE, WHATSOEVER SHOULD BE PLAYING GAMES ON THE INTERNET TODAY!
Your grades are not exactly correct. I will have an updated grade for you tomorrow.
WARM-UP:
* I do still have a couple of yalls time sheets. Sorry about that. Please just write down and keep track of your hours and I will get it to you on Thursday.
* Please update your time sheets if your folders are in the crate and if you have your time sheet.
* Please update your yellow pay check stub record sheet
* If you have not turned in on paper, your weekly schedule yet, please do so today. I believe that blogger is fixed and you should be able to post your WEEK #35 Work Schedule to your blog if you so desire. You need to make sure you have either posted your this week's work schedule or written it down on a sheet of paper and turned it in to the tray.
* Get the stuff out of your mailbox. The first part of your semester exam project is in there. It is one copy per person. If you lose and require another, it will cost you!
CLASS ACTIVITIES:
* complete the warm-up items
* you have two choices of what to do today:
1) Continue working on your OSHA certification course or take the Alternative assignment TEST in QUIA. link for quia test-->OSHA: TEEN Safety in Restaurants
- If you choose this option, then you may go to the sub and tell him/her that you need a set of headphones because you are working on OSHA today. If the sub sees that you are not on www.careersafeonline.com at any point, then the sub will take your headphones away and you must start working on the final exam simulation packet!!
2) Begin working on your Semester Exam project, which is in your mailbox.
If you choose #2, please read the following information is to introduce you to what you are going to be doing. If you do not read the information listed below and you do not follow the directions given below, points will be taken off for this section. I have built something into this blog posting to see if you can actually read and follow directions.
FINAL EXAM PROJECT INTRODUCTION:
* Be sure to read all information in the packet. Read all directions.
* For this simulation you are to pretend you are living and working in the imaginary towns of Rivertown and Walchville. Everyone will be finding a job that they like, locating a place to live, and doing the things that are part of everyday life.
* Be sure you understand which direction is North, South, East and West, Northeast, Southwest, etc.
* Understanding and being able to read the maps in the packet are very important. Be sure you know how to get around and know how to use the legend and keys.
* If I cannot read your handwriting on any part of this project, I will mark that answer wrong.
* You need to honestly think about the answers and decisions you make to come to your answers to put on your papers.
* You would be amazed at how many people your age can't read a map and do not know how to follow directions (north, east, west, south); so even though Part I is going to seem very, very easy to you, I expect it to be so, BECAUSE YOU READ THE INFORMATION, FOLLOWED THE DIRECTIONS, AND PAID ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU WERE DOING.
Specifically getting started with Part I
* On pages 4 and 5 is a Map of the two towns you are "living in"
* Page 6 is a directory of streets and what general location those streets are on the map
* Page 7 gives you a listing of buildings/places you are to label in the correct location on the map (pages 4 & 5) ~ using different colors to label the different categories might make this easier to do
Specifically getting started with Part II
* page 10 is where you do a basic interest inventory, trying to figure out what the right job for you would be
* page 11 and 12 is a "sample - pretend" classified section of the newspaper. The classifieds is still the number 1 way to locate and find jobs
* page 13 is seeing how well you can read the classifieds (there are lots of people out there that do not know how to do this)
* STOP ONCE YOU GET TO PAGE 13
* DO NOT COMPLETE PAGES 14, 15, & 16, there are several things I want to go over with you about these pages
DUE TODAY:
* Check writing worksheet (points off for being late)
* Recording checks worksheet
* anything you may owe me
AGAIN, PLEASE BE GOOD AND ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR TODAY!
NO GAMES, NO LOUD TALKING, NO OUT LOUD MUSIC
Have a good day and see you tomorrow.
