Daily Agenda, Wednesday 2/4

I am a little bummed that only 7 people out of 38 actually read my blog and completed the Comment Assignment that was #6 in the Warm-up. That shows me just how many of you are truly reading and following the directions I list on my blog. Oh well, it was an ASSIGNMENT THAT WAS TO BE DONE ON TUESDAY, 2/3. Maybe after the everyone but those 7 receive a zero, maybe people will start reading directions more carefully.

WARM-UP:
1) check your mailbox
2) update your time sheet (all should be in your folders)
3) make copies of your pay check stubs if you brought any in
4) update your yellow pay check stub record sheet
5) update you weekly work schedule on to your blog if your work schedule as changed

CLASS ACTIVITIES:
If you weren't in class on Tuesday, be sure to read my blog post for that day and complete the work assigned.

6) FINISH THE WORKSHEET ASSIGNMENT FROM YESTERDAY. You had 2 handouts you were to print and complete. If you didn't get them completed, you have today to do so. Please work quickly.
THERE WILL NOT BE ANY ADDITIONAL EXTENSION.

DAILY AGENDA, TUESDAY 2/3/09

REMINDERS:
* Even though I am gone this week, you must still call or text me if you are going to be missing school for whatever reason. Just because I am gone does not mean you get a "free pass" on communicating with me.

* Your folders are back in the big black crate and they are in the correct alphabetical order. Please be sure to keep them in the correct order.

* W-2 FORMS ARE DUE NEXT MONDAY, FEB. 9TH. BE SURE TO BRING THEM IN AND MAKE A COPY AND PUT IT IN YOUR FOLDER.

* New students please be sure that you get help with copying your paycheck stubs, recording your hours on the time sheet, and recording your paycheck stub information on your paycheck stub record sheet (yellow sheet). Everyone should have a folder in the crate. If you don't, please leave a comment on my blog and I will get you one. Everyone should have a box with their name on it. Please let me know if I have left you out. In addition, please make sure that you have corrected a blog and have left a comment on my blog so I can add your blog address to my blog.

* MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR MAILBOX EACH DAY AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CLASS PERIOD.

Points off for every day this in not posted correctly, completely or not at all.

DAILY AGENDA, THURSDAY 1/29/09

REMINDERS:
* You must call me if you are going to be late to school or are not coming to school. I cannot count your work hours in the afternoon, if you miss school in the morning. A lot of you have not been doing this. (In the workplace this can get you fired.)

* W-2 forms must be brought in and copied by February 9th. (major grade)

* You must be bringin in your pay check stubs, copying them and recording the information on your Yellow Pay Check Stub Record Sheet. I should be able to pull that sheet any time and look to see how many total hours you have worked to date. (THIS IS NOT ACCURATE FOR 100% OF YOU.)

* I have started taking out evaluations. Just so you know they must be returned to me by February 12th.

* When completing your time sheet - you must include the $ to indicate MONEY.

DAILY AGENDA, WEDNESDAY 1/28/09

I was glad to see that only a few of you didn't turn in your worksheet at all, and only a few that FAILED to complete the whole thing. Way to go to all of you who completed the worksheet yesterday in the time alloted.

WARM-UP:
1) get your folder (Hint: Not in the black box, you have to find them)
2) get out something to write with
3) go to the center of the room
4) get out your 4th six weeks time sheet
5) get out your pay check stub we were using on Monday

CLASS ACTIVITIES:
6) complete the time sheet calculations we started on Monday
7) update your time sheet
8) update your weekly work schedule post, if you have any changes
9) copy your pay check stubs if you brought them
10) update your yellow pay check stub record sheet

NEXT WEEK WHILE I AM GONE YOU WILL CONTINUE TO WORK ON THE TEEN WORKER SAFETY IN RESTAURANTS eTOOL WEBSITE. WITH A BIT OF ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES. YOU WILL HAVE A TON OF WORK TO DO NEXT WEEK, BECAUSE I WANT YOU BUSY THE ENTIRE PERIOD - WORKING HARD FOR THE SUB EACH DAY!!!

Sorry I am not here for you today, but Madison (my daughter) is running a fever and I can't take her to daycare. I hope to be back tomorrow.

Please don't play on the Internet and play games. I would really like for you all to complete the assignment I have listed here. No one completed the assignment I made yesterday, because I didn't get any print outs. Please be sure and complete what I have left here for you to do TODAY.

You will go through the etools site, reading the information and filling out the worksheet you printed out.

This is a great activity and you were going to do it whether I was here or not, at some point this semester. Whether you work in a Restaurant or not, the information you can learn from doing this activity can really be applied to all industries.
